Recording from the collection @ipswichmuseums at Christchurch mansions with the wise @jmc.anderson Felt quite reverential. Dope to be part of this incredible group. Especially now when Sri Lanka is facing such devastation. Working together, can bring so many good things. Simple right? ‘Beyond the Archive: Stitching and Sounding Sri Lanka’s Stories’ (2025) is on view at SET 91 until 7 December as part of the ‘Under Archives’ exhibition. The Sri Lankan Archive Collective presents this work in collaboration with Toulip Wonder. The collective features a growing group of Sri Lankan artists, musicians and community members who have collectively engaged with Ceylon’s Colonial Office records (the name used for Sri Lanka under British rule) during workshops organised by Wonder at the National Archives in London. Bit late on this one but a couple of months back I was pretty amazed to be on this mega list of recipients of the Henry Moore grant. No idea who put me forward for it but mega grateful and appreciative to them and the foundation itself. Very exciting opportunity to push forward with my research and new builds. Super well done to the other recipients, honestly a list of incredible artists, go check em out. Also wanted to celebrate the work of the Irish governments basic income for artists who’s results have shown supporting artists through investment provided a net positive result in both the economy and mental health as well as a whole load of other areas.
